Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to a highly active region of the naturally occurring 43-amino acid protein thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4). The active fragment — actin-binding domain Ac-SDKP — retains much of the parent molecule's biological activity in preclinical research models. Thymosin beta-4 is one of the most abundant intracellular proteins in mammalian cells, found at particularly high concentrations in platelets and wound fluid.
It plays a central role in actin sequestration, cell migration, and tissue remodeling. TB-500 has been studied extensively in models of cardiac, musculoskeletal, corneal, and neurological tissue repair.
Mechanism of Action
Research into TB-500 focuses on:
- Binding to G-actin monomers via its LKKTETQ actin-binding domain, regulating actin polymerization dynamics critical for cell migration
- Upregulation of matrix metalloproteinases facilitating extracellular matrix remodeling during wound repair
- Promotion of endothelial cell migration and tube formation (angiogenesis) via VEGF-independent pathways
- Anti-inflammatory activity through downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α and IL-6
- Activation of cardiac progenitor cell migration following ischemic injury in rodent models

Reconstitution
Reconstitution Guide
Reconstitute TB-500 with bacteriostatic water or sterile water. Add solvent slowly along the inside wall of the vial and gently swirl to dissolve — do not vortex. TB-500 is generally freely soluble in water. Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C and use within 4–6 weeks. Do not freeze the reconstituted solution.
Quality & Purity
Every batch of TB-500 supplied by Trusty Peptide undergoes third-party HPLC testing to verify purity of ≥98%. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the batch number, test results, and molecular confirmation is included with every order and available on request prior to purchase.
